പ്യൂരിനുകള്‍ രക്തത്തിലെ യൂറിക്ക് ആസിഡായി വിഘടിക്കുകയും മൂത്രത്തിലൂടെയോ മലവിസര്‍ജ്ജനത്തിലൂടെയോ പുറത്ത് പോകുകയും ചെയ്യണം. എന്നാല്‍ ഇത് സംഭവിക്കാതിരിക്കുമ്പോള്‍ യൂറിക്ക് ആസിഡ് ശരീരത്തില്‍ ശേഖരിക്കപ്പെടുകയും ഇത് പലവിധ രോഗങ്ങളിലേക്ക് നയിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യും. വൃക്കയുടെ പ്രവര്‍ത്തനം തകരാറിലായാല്‍ യൂറിക്ക് ആസിഡ് കാണപ്പെടുന്നു. പ്യൂരിന്‍ അടങ്ങിയ ഭക്ഷണ സാധനങ്ങള്‍ അമിതമായി കഴിക്കുന്നത് നിയന്ത്രിക്കണം. മാത്രമല്ല ചില മരുന്നുകളും യൂറിക്ക് ആസിഡിലേക്ക് നയിക്കും. യൂറിക്ക് ആസിഡ് അമിതമായാല്‍ അത് സന്ധികളില്‍ ശേഖരിക്കപ്പെടുകയും തത്ഫലമായി ജോയിന്റ് പെയിന്‍ ഉണ്ടാകുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു. ഇത് വൃക്കയില്‍ കല്ല് രൂപപ്പെടുന്നതിനും കാരണമാകും. സന്ധികളില്‍ വേദന, വീക്കം എന്നിവ ഉണ്ടെങ്കില്‍ യൂറിക്ക് ആസിഡ് ടെസ്റ്റ് ചെയ്യണം. ഛര്‍ദി, തലകറക്കം, ഇടയ്ക്കിടെ മൂത്രശങ്ക, മൂത്രത്തില്‍ രക്തം എന്നിവ കാണപ്പെട്ടാലും യൂറിക്ക് ആസിഡ് പരിശോധന നടത്തുക.
